Have your say in the life of the school - your forum, your voice!
Our Parents’ Forum first met in February 2007. Parents of children in all years meet 6 times a year to discuss issues of importance to the school and its students. Most importantly we have the opportunity to play a key role in discussing planned improvements and we are able to have our say in what is important and how things are done. For example, the Parents’ Forum played an active part in the review of Home Learning and has hosted an evening for Year 7 parents to enable them to find out about Adventure Based Learning.
The Parents’ Forum offers every parent the opportunity of finding out about the educational and wider provision at The Boswells School. Regular presentations are made by key staff at meetings and these become the focus of wider discussion which allows parents the opportunity to present suggestions for the improvement of aspects of what the school does. Discussions have included Home Learning, Adventure Based Learning, provision for Gifted, Able & Talented students, extended services and the Local Delivery Group (a partnership of schools providing support and activities for students)and Learning Support provision.
The Parents’ Forum members are involved in considering proposals from the school which will give parents an active role in determining the future direction and provision of the school in partnership with governors, staff and students.
So, would you like to have your say in a forum of parents who are united by wanting to help the school provide the very best education for their children? Then why not become a member of the Parents’ Forum?
