Performance at The SSAT National Conference

I am writing this article having just had the pleasure of reading a letter sent to me by a local secondary headteacher. In it he writes how proud he was to see representatives from another Essex school performing so wonderfully at the opening of the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust conference in Birmingham at the end of November. I am delighted to tell you that the students whose polished and dynamic performance made such an impression on an international audience of headteachers and dignitaries were from The Boswells School. Our cheerleaders have performed at an astonishingly high level since their formation two years ago and to be selected to open such a prestigious conference is testimony to their dedication and excellence and reflects great credit upon our whole community. I would like to congratulate them on being such wonderful ambassadors for the school.

The Boswells Cheerleaders were one of only six student performance places available and the selection process was rigorous, including a visit from three SSAT assessors during the last week of the Summer term. Excitingly the students performance can be viewed by clicking HERE:

The school squad is the most successful UK school team!

The Boswells School Cheerleading squad was established 3 years ago and has become a highly successful competition team, winning all, bar 2, of their competitions! The squad is made up of students from Years 7 to 13.

In November 2009, the Boswells Cheerleaders were very privileged to perform at the SSAT National Conference in Birmingham 2009. They were awarded one of only six performance places available following a rigorous selection process, including a visit from three SSAT assessors. Excitingly, the students’ performance can be viewed by clicking HERE

In 2008 and 2009 the Boswells Cheerleading Squad also performed at the UK’s largest Dance Exhibition ‘Move It’ at the Olympia in London.

Cheerleading is an excellent sport to take part in for both boys and girls, involving gymnastics, tumbling, stunting and dancing. Cheerleaders aim for the highest standard possible and are expected to show high levels of dedication and talent, sportsmanship and self confidence.

Cheerleading is currently the fastest growing sport in the UK

Our Hope is to provide a positive environment in the pursuit of excellence based on the values of Pride, Co-Operation, Commitment and Dedication
